WAREHOUSE POSITION

We are a small Independent Publishing company based in Northampton, MA. We are looking for an efficient and capable individual to work in the warehouse who can devote 20-30 hours per week. This individual must be hard-working and able to handle the physical requirements of the position. Some flexibility in hours is required since we do not always get an accurate time of arrival from trucks that will need to be loaded. This job will include:

Packing and moving boxes, assembling pallets, stickering/labeling books and boxes when required, loading pallets onto trucks, counting inventory, ensuring orders are shipped in a timely manner, packing individual orders.

PUBLISHING ASSISTANT

Interlink Publishing Group is seeking a full-time assistant who will split their time between customer service/administrative tasks and proofreading/editorial tasks. We are a small team and are looking for an individual who will jump into tasks where necessary and manage front-of-house duties. The individual must be organized and highly capable with some proofreading experience.

This is a full-time position based in our office in Northampton, MA. Remote working is not possible for this position.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Front-of-house responsibilities, including answering phone calls, managing email inquiries, incoming/outgoing mail, assisting walk-in bookstore customers
  • Proofreading and assisting Interlink editors
  • Data management: adding & updating website and data feed
  • Inventory management: order stock transfers
  • Processing customer orders & general customer service
  • Occasional assistance with packing orders/stickering books
  • General administrative tasks
  • Occasional weekend events

A successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Experience with proofreading and a strong interest in editing
  • Professional experience working in a front-of-house and/or office setting is a plus
  • Can lift and move boxes up to 40-50lbs
  • A self-motivated, driven, organized individual with a positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and InDesign is a plus
  • Bookselling experience welcome!

We publish 70 books a year for children and adults, with a focus on works of literature, history, contemporary politics, art, cultural guides, international cuisine, and illustrated children’s books from around the world. Full time position
35,000 yearly salary for 40 hours a week
